The Trill is Gone
Here's a review from Just Jazz Guitar magazine . . .
"D Flat Samba is the second release by Arizona guitarist David Van Schoyck. Van Schoyck, an active teacher and performer in the Chandler, AZ area, is joined by multi-instrumentalist Mike Crotty, bassist Steve Anderson, and renowned drummer/ percussionist Dom Moio.
All of the tracks appearing on D Flat Samba are original compositions sometimes based off of well known standard or bossa nova chord progressions. Four of the ten tracks are latins with the rest falling into swing, modern, and pop-based styles. The rhythm section of Moio and Anderson do a wonderful job throughout, and Mike Crotty gives flawless performances on his woodwind and brass doubles (how many instruments can he play?).
Van Schoyck’s playing is excellent throughout this recording, and his compositions offer the perfect backdrop to showcase his musical talents. This CD and his earlier release Too Much Spice are available through his website www.davidvanshoyck.com."
In case you're concerned that I've forgotten how to rock, check out "Shred."

1979 in Hermosa Beach CA . . . Having way too much fun. (BTW, that's a 1960 cherry sunburst Les Paul.)
